iciHaiti - Religion : Pope Francis calls not to forget the Haitian people
Sunday, October 13, 2024, at the end of the Angelus prayer, in Saint Peter's Square in Rome, Pope Francis expressed his closeness to the Haitian population, who are suffering from the violence of armed groups.

The Holy Father called on the international community to "continue to work to build peace and reconciliation" in Haiti "I am following the dramatic situation in Haiti, where violence continues against the population, forced to flee their homes to seek safety elsewhere, inside and outside the country," the Holy Father lamented in front of thousands of pilgrims "Let's never forget our Haitian brothers and sisters."

Pope Francis asked the faithful "to pray for all forms of violence to cease and, with the commitment of the international community, to continue to work to build peace in Haiti, while always defending the dignity and rights of all."
