Alix Verrier, born March 9, 1931 in Latibolière, Haiti, was Bishop of Les Cayes (Haiti) from 1988 to 2009. Ordained a priest on July 13, 1958, it was on December 21, 1985 that Pope John Paul II appointed him Coadjutor Bishop of Les Cayes, alongside Bishop Jean-Jacques Angénor. He was consecrated the following March 9 by Bishop Paolo Romeo, then Apostolic Nuncio in Haiti. He succeeded Mgr Angénor on April 9, 1988 and retired on March 9, 2009, the very day of his 78th birthday. IH/ iciHaiti
