At the request of Prime Minister Garry Conille, Me Carlos Hercule, Acting Prime Minister during Conille's trip abroad https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-43355-haiti-politic-pm-on-tour-in-kenya-and-the-united-arab-emirates-video.html chaired an important working session at the Official Residence on the constitution and establishment of a multi-sectoral working group on the reception and care of thousands of Haitians deported from the neighboring Republic https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-43371-haiti-flash-7-217-haitians-deported-and-repatriated-to-haiti-in-4-days-by-the-dominican-republic.html

The following ministers took part in this working session : Ketleen FLORESTAL (Economy), Georges Wilbert FRANCK (Social Affairs), Marie Françoise SUZAN (Women's Status), Herwil Gaspard, Minister Delegate for Humanitarian Affairs and Solidarity to the Prime Minister, the Sectoral General Directorates and partners of international agencies, in particular, the United Nations system, including Ulrika Richardson, the United Nations Resident Coordinator for Humanitarian Action in Haiti.

On the Agenda for Discussions :
1. Reception of Haitian migrants;
2. Directory of Haitian migrants;
3. Documentation and updating of identity documents;
4. Reintegration and reintegration of Haitian migrants;
5. Coordination of communication and advocacy for Haitian migrants;
6. Addition of the migration challenge to the rapid assessment of the impact of the crisis and the updating of ministerial roadmaps.

The Working Group has decreed permanence on this file, in particular, with regard to the daily reception and care of Haitian migrants and will hold its next working session to assess the situation and coordinate the response, on Friday, October 11, 2024.
