On the second day of the 2024-2025 academic year, in the presence of hundreds of parents, teachers and local dignitaries, Antoine Augustin, Minister of National Education, inaugurated the brand new buildings of the National Mixed School of Léogâne, with a capacity of 1,100 students (girls and boys), from the 1st to the 8th fundamental year, plus preschool toddlers.

This project, funded by the National Education Fund (FNE) to the tune of more than 82 million Gourdes (82,729,445 Gdes), includes 21 classrooms (2 rooms for preschool, 12 rooms for the 1st and 2nd cycles of basic education, 3 rooms for the 3rd cycle of basic education, 3 rooms for the administrative block), a cafeteria, a water tank with a capacity of 10,000 gallons and a multi-sport field.

UNICEF played a significant role in the management of the project by allowing students and teachers to develop in a setting that meets learning standards. UNICEF provided its share to facilitate the return of students to this school equipped with all the necessary equipment for learning, by providing kits and textbooks so that each child can succeed.
