"On Thursday, October 3rd, 2024, upon instructions from the President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, Ambassador Wendy Jeannette Acevedo Castillo, Permanent Representative of the Republic of El Salvador to the Organization of American States (OAS), accompanied by Ambassador Gandy Thomas, Acting Representative of Haiti to the OAS, proceeded to sign the Agreement on the Multinational Mission for Security Support (MMSS) in Haiti," informed the OAS on its Facebook page

"This accession marks a crucial and decisive step in the fight against armed violence in Haiti, as it will leverage, in the coming days, El Salvador's proven expertise in eradicating criminal gangs."
