iciHaiti - New Orleans : Participation of Cap-Haïtien in the International Festival of Twin Cities
With the aim of continuing to reposition the city of Cap-Haitien, which is today a unique destination in Haiti, Patrick Almonor, Deputy Mayor of Cap-Haïtien, at the head of a Haitian delegation, participated, from September 25 to 30, 2024, in the International Arts Festival and Twin Cities Summit in New Orleans.

This participation is part of a mission of the municipality to strengthen its international partnerships and explore opportunities for collaboration with other twin cities.

The city of New Orleans shares many characteristics with that of Cap-Haïtien, such as its heritage and economic dynamism. This visit allowed the municipality to explore an annual week-long event, in order to examine how the city of Cap-Haïtien could benefit from their expertise in key areas such as:

• Security management in a city welcoming international visitors;
• The recovery and management of household waste;
• The organization and management of major events;
• Governance and land use planning;
• The search for potential investors for the Cap-Haïtien destination.

This mission was also an opportunity for the municipality to exchange with the team of the City of New Orleans and the "Twin Sisters Reunited" team, paving the way for reciprocal exchanges between the two cities.
