iciHaiti - SIMEX : Simulation exercise on hydrometeorological risks in the South
The General Directorate of Civil Protection informs that there will be a new simulation exercise in the department of Grand'Anse and Nippes on September 26, 2024.

This simulation exercise will allow the National Disaster Risk Management System (SNGRD) to assess the capacity of 7 municipal civil protection committees to coordinate, communicate and provide first aid to the local population in the event of hurricanes or other major hazards.

After the exercise of September 24, on Thursday, September 26, 2024, the local committees and brigade of the communes of Baumont, Corail, Anse-à-Veaux, l'Asil, Fond-des-Nègres and Petite Rivière des Nippes will train.

These activities will continue to raise awareness among the population of the departments of Grand'Anse and Nippes about the major dangers posed by tropical hurricanes, such as floods, landslides and mudslides, so that they are better prepared to deal with any emergency during the hurricane season.

The General Directorate of Civil Protection is relying on the collaboration of all the inhabitants of these communes, men and women, while asking them to keep a cool head when the siren sounds announcing the start and end of the activities.
