iciHaiti - Statistics : National Ambulance Center Report (August 2024)

The National Ambulance Center (CAN) has communicated to us its summary statistical report of the pre-hospital care of the various emergency cases carried out during the month of August 2024.

751 cases were taken care of by the National Ambulance Center (CAN) in August 2024 (-4.21% compared to the previous month (784) https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-42975-icihaiti-health-report-of-the-national-ambulance-center-july-2024.html . Transfers (19.30%), various conditions (18.51%) and obstetric emergencies (17.71%) were the three most important cares.

Number and types of interventions

5 suspected cases of cholera;

91 cases of respiratory distress (not associated with Covid-19);

88 cases of diseases chronic (various pathologies);

133 obstetric emergencies;

67 road accidents;

145 transfers (referrals and laboratory tests);

47 traumas (injuries & fractures of varying degrees);

21 gunshot wounds;

15 stab wounds;

139 various conditions (malaise, diarrhea, fever, anemia, abdominal pain, etc...)

Of the 751 cases handled by the CAN: 449 interventions took place in the West, 91 in the Artibonite, 59 in the South-East, 45 in the North-West, 31 in the North-East, 27 in the North, 24 in the Nippes, 19 in the South, 3 in the Center, 3 in the Grand’Anse.
