iciHaiti - Washington DC : Exploring new opportunities for Haiti
Last week, Xavier Michon, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP-Haiti) took part in an official strategic visit to Washington DC. This high-level trip, in partnership with the Regional Representative Office of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for Latin America and the Caribbean, aimed to explore new opportunities for Haiti.

The program included meetings with American decision-makers, both from the Executive and the Capitol, as well as with financial institutions, think tanks and influential foundations.

The discussions highlighted Haiti's potential, while promoting the innovative approaches of the UNDP. Concrete avenues were outlined to strengthen governance, improve security and justice in the short term. Particular emphasis was also placed on economic recovery and preparation for upcoming elections, as well as on essential stabilization efforts.

Xavier Michon expressed his deep gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of this mission. Their ideas and support represent a valuable resource in our quest for solutions to the challenges facing Haiti.

This visit marks the beginning of a strengthened collaboration, and we look forward to seeing its fruits. "Together, we can have a significant impact on Haiti’s development and progress," Michon is convinced.
