iciHaiti - Health : Establishment of a Blood Bank for the PNH

The Haitian National Police (PNH) recently launched an awareness and blood collection campaign at the National Police School, aimed at setting up a blood bank within the Police Institution, an initiative of Rameau Normil, Acting Director General of the PNH.

The implementation of this project is ensured by the Medical Directorate of the PNH and by a team from the National Transfusion Safety Program (PNST) of the Ministry of Public Health.

On the first day, 72 blood bags were collected, thanks to 72 aspiring police officers from the 34th promotion, in training at the National Police School who volunteered.

The establishment of this Blood Bank within the PNST will be accessible in case of need to all members of the PNH staff as well as their relatives.

This activity was carried out under the supervision of Dr. Jean Sonny Virgile, General Surgeon and Medical Director of the PNH, Junior Divisional Commissioner Alexis and Divisional Commissioner Ernst B. Dorfeuille.

Shopulkd be noted that the awareness campaign and blood collection will reach all the Police Stations and Sub-Police Stations in the country, as well as all police and administrative personnel in office.
