iciHaiti - Humanitarian : WFP has a new representative and Director in Haiti
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has a new Representative and Country Director in Haiti, Kenyan Wanja Kaaria-Ndoho.

Under her leadership, WFP Haiti will continue its mission to save and change lives in Haiti. Working closely with the Government and partners, WFP is committed to helping the most vulnerable populations, guided by the humanitarian principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality and independence.

Who is Wanja Kaaria-Ndoho ?
Wanja Kaaria-Ndoho, a Kenyan national, has over 26 years of experience with WFP. Most recently as Representative and Country Director in Cameroon, and Sao Tome and Principe (2020-2024).

Prior to that, she held the same position in The Gambia, (2018-2020). She served as Deputy Country Director of the WFP Office to the African Union and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (2014-2018), and Deputy Country Director of the WFP Office in Senegal (2011-2014).

A monitoring and analysis specialist, Kaaria-Ndoho worked as Chief of Food Security Monitoring at WFP Headquarters in Rome, Italy (2008-2011), and as Regional Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor for the WFP Regional Office for Southern Africa in Johannesburg, South Africa (2002-2008).

She holds a Master’s degree in Development Planning and Management from the University of Dortmund, Germany, and the Kumasi University of Science and Technology, Ghana. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Land Economics from the University of Nairobi, Kenya.
