iciHaiti - Canada : Jérémiens reunion evening
The Embassy of Haiti in Canada was pleased to join the Jérémie reunion evening held at the RJ Kennedy Community Centre in Ottawa on August 24, 2024.

This event, which is intended to be an annual event, marks St-Louis, the patronal feast of the city of Jérémie. The Embassy took the opportunity to hold a kiosk where participants had access to information about the Mission's activities and received small souvenirs from Haiti.

During this evening, the organizers awarded plaques of honour and merit to Jérémie natives for their contribution to the community, in particular their commitment to education in Jérémie. In addition, the writer from Jérémie, Eddy Cavé, who was signing, was recognized both for his career in Canada and for his work "De mémoire d'un Jérémien". Former Consul General in Chicago (2004-2018), Lesly Condé, born in Great South, praised the kindness of the Jérémiens and the beauty of the Great South. At the sime time, he praised the work, insight and discretion of the current Ambassador of Haiti to Canada, Dr. Weibert Arthus, present in the room, whose mother is also from Jérémie.

This gathering which brought together several dozen Jérémiens was hosted by the legendary John Steve Brunache and the musical group Chillout.
