iciHaiti - NOTICE : The Ministry of the Interior takes strict measures
Garry Conille, as Minister of the Interior and Local Authorities (MICT), has been informed that people without rights or titles are circulating in possession of false documents : identifiers (badges) and passes with the MICT header. He would like to point out that all identifiers (badges) have been formally suspended since April 2021 pending the implementation of a renewal process.

Following the provisions adopted by the Government to redress and clean up the functioning of public institutions, the Ministry of the Interior and Local Authorities announces the adoption of a set of measures :

1.- All "Passes", "exemptions" and other documents of a similar nature previously granted are revoked and cancelled as of the publication of this note. Any person wishing to benefit from the advantages and benefits granted under such documents is exposed to the sanctions and other prosecutions provided for by law.

2.- The Ministry has requested a change of registration plate for all of its vehicles and asks all users to report to the Administrative Directorate of the MICT in order to complete the administrative formalities for the necessary follow-up.

3.- While waiting for the issuance of the new registration plates, a driving authorization will be granted to users of the Ministry's vehicles. In the absence of this authorization, the Haitian National Police is authorized to conduct all investigations deemed useful in order to verify the identity of the driver and passengers of the vehicle concerned.

4.- Finally, the Ministry of the Interior takes this opportunity to remind once again users of vehicles and other equipment of the Ministry, who have neither title nor quality, to benefit from this privilege, to take all measures to return said vehicles and equipment to the Administrative Directorate for the necessary follow-up.

As of September 1st, 2024, vehicles that have not been returned will be reported to the police authorities for useful purposes.
