iciHaiti - FLASH : Nearly 4,000 people killed or injured in the first half of 2024
According to the compilation of UN reports for the first two quarters of 2024, at least 3,927 people have been killed or injured in Haiti.

Growing violence worsens humanitarian situation where more than 4 million Haitians suffer from food insecurity

Most of those killed or injured were documented in the West Department (Port-au-Prince Metropolitan Area) and the Artibonite Department

The first quarter of 2024 was the most violent since the beginning of 2022 in Haiti, says the UN "Between January and March 2024, at least 2,067 people were killed or injured in gang-related violence" including 1,660 killed, which represents a 53% increase in the number of deaths compared to the previous quarter (October to December 2023) indicates the quarterly report of the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH).
