iciHaiti - Religion : Erol Josué at the «Biennale Ouidah 2024, vodun arts and cultures» in Benin
The National Bureau of Ethnology (BNE) would like to inform the Haitian public that Erol Josué, Director General of the said Bureau, is participating in the "Biennale Ouidah 2024, Vodun arts and cultures" in Benin around the theme "So far... so close".

This biennial, which is held from July 25 to August 25, 2024 and supported by the Vodun Hwendo community (led by His Majesty Dada Daagbo Hounon Houna II) and Laboratorio Arts Contemporains, will host the performance of Erol Josué, voodoo priest, actor, dancer and singer. His stage work supports his duties as Director General of the BNE, one of whose missions is the safeguarding of Haiti's tangible and intangible heritage.

A federator of the intangible heritage of Vodou, Erol Josué is one of the most important figures of voodoo culture in Haiti and in the world. At the end of his stay in Benin, a restitution of his participation in this biennial will take place in Haiti, at the BNE.

The National Bureau of Ethnology (BNE) recalls that Haiti, from April 15 to 28, 2017, had received his majesty Dada Daagbo Hounnon Houna II as part of Act III of the "Meetings from here and elsewhere" initiated by Laboratorio Arts Contemporains.
