iciHaiti - Cité Soleil : 70,000 m3 of waste and alluvium removed from the canals
The Pan American Development Foundation (PADF - Haiti) in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works announces that it has intensified its efforts to protect the inhabitants of Cité Soleil against devastating floods during the hurricane season (June 1st - November 30).

Thanks to funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID-Haiti) through its Humanitarian Assistance Office, a vast project to clean the main drainage canals in the region has been undertaken.

PADF's plan : Intervene on the Athlétique, Técina, 3BB, Soleil 4, St Georges (from Ti Zile to the sea) and Chancerelles canals.

What has been achieved so far :
Cleaning of 4 km of drainage canals, including the Athlétique, Soleil 4, 3BB and Chancerelles canals;
Removal of 70,000 m3 of waste and alluvium from the canals;
Cleaning 20,000 m3 of waste in the neighborhoods.

Every day, our teams work tirelessly to ensure a safer and cleaner environment for the families of Cité Soleil. This project would not be possible without the support of our partners and members of the community, the Foundation concludes.
