iciHaiti - Hurricane Beryl : Dept. of the South, South-East and Grand'Anse, the most exposed
The powerful Category 5 Hurricane Beryl, catastrophic and potentially fatal, will not directly affect the South of Haiti but in relation to its movement off the Haitian coast and its power, it will nevertheless impact the departments of the South, the South-East and Grand'Anse (on orange alert) with heavy rains and gusts of wind, according to the Haiti Hydrometeorological Unit and the Directorate of Civil Protection (DPC).

Humanitarian agencies in Haiti are in close contact with Haitian authorities as the country could be hit by heavy rains, strong winds and landslides during Hurricane Beryl's passage at sea.

The departments of South, South-East and Grand-Anse could be the hardest hit.

UN agencies are ready to help and have already taken anticipatory measures, including food distributions.
