Professor Henry Robert STERLIN is a pure product of the UEH. He studied undergraduate degrees in International Affairs and Social Sciences, respectively at the National School of Advanced International Studies, now known as the "National Institute of Management and Advanced International Studies (INAGHEI)" and at the School Normal Superior (ENS). He continued his graduate studies abroad in International Relations and others until obtaining his doctorate in History of International Relations at the Institute of Political Studies in Paris.

A brilliant professor, Dr. STERLIN devoted a good part of his teaching career to the service of the UEH and particularly to INAGHEI where he trained several generations of students. Within the latter, apart from the status of professor, he held important positions, notably that of head of the Department of Political Sciences and Secretary General of this entity of the UEH.

A career diplomat, Dr. STERLIN represented and defended the Haitian Nation through several diplomatic missions around the world, either as Minister Counselor or as Chargé d'affaires. Mr. STERLIN, in his career, provided his services at the highest level of the State as Chief of Staff of the Minister of National Education (November 1991 to November 1992), Chief of Staff of the Minister of the Interior and National Defense (September 1994), but also Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs (January 2015).

The death of Professor Henry Robert STERLIN constitutes a great loss for the UEH and for the country. The Rectorate of the UEH bows before his mortal remains. He extends his deepest sympathies to the grieving family, to his former colleague professors and students at INAGHEI, to parents, friends and all those affected by this bereavement.
