iciHaiti - Humanitarian : Several tons of medical supplies have arrived in Haiti

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO - Haiti), with the help of the World Food Program (WFP) and the United Nations Humanitarian Air Service, was able to resume, last week, its deliveries of medical products after three month of closure of the Port-au-Prince international airport.

More than 1.5 tons of medical products from PAHO's stockpile in the Dominican Republic were sent to support the capital's public hospitals and blood transfusion services on the front lines of the emergency response.

This operation was made possible thanks to the support of the World Health Organization (WHO) Emergency Contingency Fund.

Furthermore, for the first time in three months, the WFP was able to land a cargo plane in Port-au-Prince this week. This plane transported 15 tons of medical supplies that our partners desperately needed. WFP supports the humanitarian community through aviation and logistics.
