The El Rancho Hotel was the setting chosen last weekend to celebrate International Nurses Day around the theme "Our Nurses, Our Future : The Economic Cost of Care".

This celebration allowed the various speakers to highlight the main challenges that mark the journey of the nurse in Haiti. The representative of PAHO-Haiti praised the sense of duty and humanism of Haitian nurses, emphasizing their particularly difficult working conditions and their unwavering desire to continue doing what they do best : "Help others".

The Ministry of Health took the opportunity to highlight the commitment of nurses in public hospitals despite the more than precarious working conditions. It was also an opportunity to pay vibrant tribute to individuals and entities who stood out throughout this year.

The Nursing Directorate of the Ministry, the National School of Nursing, the National Ambulance Center and Ms. Marie Nicole Sully Guerrier Director of the National Nursing School of Port-au-Prince, were awarded plaques of honor for their contribution to those most in need in their difficult times and while giving them hope for a better tomorrow.
