iciHaiti - Taekwondo : Haiti will not participate in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games
The Haitian Taekwondo Federation (FHKO) takes stock of Haiti's participation in the qualifiers for the Paris Olympic Games, which took place in the Dominican Republic on April 9 and 10, 2024 and where unfortunately none of our taekwondo players managed to to qualify.

"In the women's category, our representative Ava LEE delivered a fierce fight during her first encounter. Despite her offensive and defensive techniques, she had to lose with a score of 2-1.

On the other hand, Aliyah Shipman brilliantly represented our country by winning her first two fights between Trinidad and Argentina, with scores of 2-0 in each match https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-42096-haiti-news-zapping.html . However, his trajectory was hampered by an injury late in the second fight. Despite her courage and tenacity, she was forced to lose in the third fight, with a score of [2-0] and was unable to fight for third place.

Our men representatives, Gregory Jean Baptiste and Saintilbert Jhonny, also showed great determination during their participation. Unfortunately, they were eliminated as soon as they entered the competition, against Peru and Honduras respectively.

The Federation would like to congratulate all our taekwondoists for their exemplary determination during these qualifiers. Their remarkable performance was a source of Kihap (battle cry) for our Nation.

We would also like to thank all the supporters and partners who supported our athletes throughout this competition, in particular the Haitian Olympic Committee, our main partner.

The hope of participation in future sporting events remains alive in our team. In this sense, our athletes will continue to train hard."
