iciHaiti - France : Discover the Haitian Biodiversity Fund

Biodiversity in Haiti is invaluable, but it is also extremely fragile. With 36% plants and 75% endemic vertebrates, the preservation of this natural wealth is crucial. This is why the French Development Agency (AFD) actively supports the Haitian Biodiversity Fund (FHB) with an endowment of 10 million euros, managed by the "Caribbean Biodiversity Fund" (CBF).

The FHB is committed to supporting the creation of protected areas and strengthening the management of natural resources. In particular, it finances a mangrove restoration project in the Baradères-Cayemites protected area. Three new projects are also being signed for the conservation of Haiti's unique ecosystem.

Furthermore, AFD contributes to the technical and institutional strengthening of the FHB with financial support of 1 million euros.
