iciHaiti - Petit-Gôave : Official launch of the Prison Vocational Training Center
At the beginning of the week in the auditorium of the Petit-Goâve Prison, the dynamic Commissioner Jean Louidor Sony launched the Professional Training Center for Petit-Goâve inmates in the presence of members of the Municipal Commission (Jean Bertrand Subrème, Mrs. Marthe Noël), the President of the Bar Delpêche Joassaint, the Police, members of civil society, of Haiti DAWA, Délor Desgranges, the Director Jean Claude Charlemagne, the Notary Louis Frantz Batista and the Director of the Notre hospital Lady, Dr. Fred Jasmin.

This training center aims to facilitate the social reintegration of prisoners upon release from prison, explained Commissioner Sony who is committed to fighting against juvenile delinquency because the prison has more than 300 prisoners, most of whom are young people aged 20 and at 30 years old.

As for the President of the Bar Delpêche Joassaint, he insisted on respecting the rights and dignity of prisoners through the creation of this professional training school within the prison.

Director Charlemagne Jean Claude praised the benefits of training in a prison space and requested financial support from everyone in order to continue the training of prisoners in different disciplines such as plumbing, IT, building electricity, decoration, crafts, sewing, cutting, preparation of products among others. Experienced trainers or teachers will deliver the courses.
