The National Ambulance Center (CAN) has provided us with its summary statistical report of the pre-hospital care of various emergency cases carried out during the month of December 2023.

Of the 934 cases supported by the CAN in December 2023 (+2.03% compared to the previous month https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-41189-icihaiti-health-report-of-the-national-ambulance-center-november-2023.html ), transfers (41%) and obstetric emergencies (22%) were the two most important items.

Number and types of intervention :
1 confirmed case of cholera;
11 suspected cases of cholera;
66 cases of respiratory distress (not associated with Covid-19);
44 cases of chronic diseases (various pathologies);
202 obstetric emergencies;
82 Public Road Accidents;
384 transfers (references and laboratory examinations);
32 traumas (injuries & fractures of varying degrees);
2 gunshot wounds;
9 stab wounds;
1 case of burns
100 various conditions (discomfort, diarrhea, fever, anemia, abdominal pain, etc...)

Of the 934 cases supported by the CAN : 556 interventions took place in the West, 116 in Artibonite, 121 in the North-West, 61 in the North/North-East, 24 in the South-East, 24 in the South, 15 in Nippes, 17 in Grand'Anse.
