iciHaiti - Jamaica : Training of the PNH in the fight against gangs
The scourge of gang violence in Haiti has reached new heights of brutality following the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse in July 2021.

Since then, gangs have taken control of a large part of the country, sowing terror among its inhabitants and causing widespread loss of life.

In an important step in the fight against the growing wave of gang violence in Haiti, the Jamaica Police High Command is training Haitian police officers.

The initiative, led by the Jamaica Police Force, aims to equip their Haitian counterparts with the knowledge and expertise necessary to combat security challenges in Haiti. This one-week training program, which aims to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Haitian National Police (PNH), is led in particular by the Jamaican Police Force in collaboration with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

The Commissioner of Police, General Antony Anderson, highlighted the importance of this collaboration, noting that it represents a unique opportunity to share the knowledge and experience gained by the Jamaica Police Force over many years of battling circumstances difficult.
