iciHaiti - Social : Training on hygiene principles and good nutritional practices
As part of the project "Strengthening the livelihoods of vulnerable populations in areas affected by food insecurity in the South department" a training in nutritional health was organized.

This training was carried out by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO - Haiti) in collaboration with the Association "Tèt Ansanm pour Yon Demen Miyò".

Funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency through the FAO Special Fund for Emergency and Rehabilitation Activities (SFERA), this training aimed to raise awareness among beneficiaries on the principles of hygiene and good nutritional and food practices to adopt.

80 participants, including 40 participants from the commune of Côteaux and 40 from Port-à-Piment, were trained in personal & home hygiene, food hygiene, prevention of cholera & malnutrition among the children.

This training will enable these women, heads of household, to adopt beneficial practices, promoting a healthy and balanced lifestyle within their household.

FAO reiterates its support to the Haitian State for strengthening the resilience of vulnerable populations in areas affected by food insecurity.
