As part of the project "Strengthening the livelihoods of vulnerable populations in areas affected by food insecurity in the South Department", the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO - Haiti) and The Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development recently distributed food seeds.

The objective of this project is to improve the agricultural and livestock production of the most vulnerable households, particularly those of Port-à-Piment and Coteaux.

Funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency via the Special Fund for Emergency and Rehabilitation Activities (SFERA) of the FAO, seeds were distributed to 500 heads of households in Coteaux and from Port-à-Piment.

The seeds will be used for the next agricultural campaign and will contribute to restoring the production capacities of beneficiary farmers.
