iciHaiti - Dajabón : 104 illegal Haitians intercepted
In the border provinces of Haiti, the Specialized Land Border Security Corps (CESFRONT) has intensified its search and arrest operations of Haitians in an irregular migratory situation. Following an intelligence operation in Dajabón, 104 Haitians were arrested while they wanted to settle in Santo Domingo, Santiago and other Dominican provinces.

Let's remember that last week, also in Dajabón, 391 people of Haitian origin were arrested, including 21 minors, and handed over to the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) for repatriation.

Soto Thormann, Director of CESFRONT, declared that operations would continue day and night, with patrols in all-terrain vehicles, to guarantee security and arrest illegal immigrants, on the orders of Carlos Luciano Díaz Morfa, Minister of Defense.

Since his appointment as Director at the head of CESFRONT, the flow of illegal immigrants from Haiti has decreased thanks to the strengthening of soldiers who have been deployed at vulnerable points of the border.

Should be notes that since the start of the conflict between Haiti and the Dominican Republic (September 15, 2023 and until the end of October 2023, a little more than 200,000 Haitians have been repatriated or returned voluntarily to Haiti.
