iciHaiti - Cap-Haitien : First class of students in administration, direction and management of public schools (master)
As part of a ceremony organized at the Public University of the North in Cap-Haïtien (UPNCH) Tuesday, October 31, Nesmy Manigat, the Minister of National Education and Professional Training welcomed the first promotion of students in the "Master" program in administration, direction and management of public schools.

"Today, at the Public University of Cape, we are hosting a fantastic series of academic events with the start of this program which aims to create a new professional category bringing together principals of nursery schools, primary schools and public high schools trained and certified for this," declared Minister Nesmy Manigat emphasizing that not just anyone can suddenly become a school director.

"School director is a job that has its demands; it is a profession which requires that the person concerned has the appropriate documents certifying that he is competent to run a school," according to Minister Manigat "this first class, of around fifty students, will show the way to all the others leaders or future leaders to lead a school." In this sense, he encourages other public universities across the country to think about the possibility of developing a similar program concluding "[...] the transformation of education requires a lot of requirements, including qualified and competent teachers and school principals who know their job."
