iciHaiti - Taekwondo : A historic victory at the Taekwondo World Championship in Baku
Thursday, June 1st during the 2023 Taekwondo World Championship in Baku (capital of Azerbaijan), which brings together from May 29 to June 4, nearly 945 of the best athletes in the discipline from 145 countries, the Haitian taekwondo player Aliyah Shipman won in the +73Kg category a historic victory on the tatami mats of Baku Crystal Hall, against the Brazilian Gabriele Siqueira (5th in the world championship in 2022).

The Haitian Taekwondo Federation participates in the world championship with 7 exceptional athletes : Aliyah Shipman, Albert Shipman, Marthe Ostin, woobens Cazeau, Sean Laloan, Gregory Jean-Baptiste and Ava Lee who are supported by 4 coaches

Thanks to the performance of Aliyah Shipman (Cat. +73 kg), Haiti wins its first fight against Brazil and ranks 9th. A historic first official victory in a world-class competition since May 28, 1973!
