Last week, as part of the National Day of the Diaspora, Judith Nazareth Auguste the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad in the presence of Ministers Luz Kurta Cassandra FRANÇOIS (Tourism), Emmelie Prophète Milcé (Culture), Mrs. Yvrose Pierre Mayor of Cap-Haitien, Jean Ronald Joseph Director General of the National Education Fund (FNE), ministry officials and representatives of the private sector, stressed the importance of the integration and participation of members of the diaspora to stimulate the national economy, recalling that the members of the diaspora remain the first tourists of Haiti and that their contribution is essential for the economic development of the country.

In her speech, Minister Prophète Milcé, has for her part, spoke of the importance of restoring national identity through this day of the diaspora. She stressed that the cultural achievements such as painting, music and literature of Haitians living abroad are a testimony of their attachment to their country of origin.

On this special day, Jean Ronald Joseph, after presenting the achievements of the diaspora, through the financial contributions to education thanks to the levy of the fee of 1.50 US dollars on international calls and transfers, encouraged everyone to reflect on the positive impact that members of the Diaspora have on their home countries and on the communities where they currently reside "We honor their legacy and their contribution, and we are committed to continuing to work with them for a future better for all."
