iciHaiti - FLASH : Legal essay contest, Registration open for university students

As part of the commemoration of World Intellectual Property Day (April 26, 2023) which will take place around the theme "The impact of industrial property rights on SMEs", the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI) informs the university student community that registration is open for the first edition of the annual essay contest.

The Industrial Property Legal Essay Contest is an annual exercise for university students in Haiti, aimed at encouraging them to reflect on the importance of industrial property rights in promoting innovation and creativity.

Guidelines:
Essays should be a minimum of 3 pages and a maximum of 5 pages, double-spaced, Times New Roman 12 font.
References must be properly cited in essays; all methods of citation in the legal field will be accepted.
The text submitted must be an original and unpublished product of the author and must be accompanied by the entry form.

Essays will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

Originality;
Theoretical or practical value;
Strong presentation and arguments from beginning to end of the text, including the intelligibility of the thesis;
Effectiveness of the organization and structure of the text, including the clarity of the introduction and conclusion;
Quality of writing, focusing on the fluidity and clarity of the text;
Creativity and convincing character.

In accordance with the rules of the competition, three essays chosen by a jury composed of 3 members will be rewarded.

1st Prize: 100,000.00 Gourdes + internship
2nd Prize: 75,000.00 Gourdes + internship
3rd Prize: 50,000.00 Gourdes + internship
