The Ministry of Culture salutes the memory of Mireille Pérodin Jérôme who died at the age of 70, art critic, gallery owner, exhibition curator, teacher and well-known figure in the Haitian artistic and cultural community.

Native of Port-au-Prince (born April 13, 1952), Mireille Pérodin Jérôme directed the Ateliers Jean-René Jérôme for a long time, named after her husband, the famous artist Jean-René Jerôme, whose works participated in the renewal of the figurative codes of Haitian plastic art.

Mireille Pérodin has greatly contributed to the promotion of Haitian plastic arts and has made it possible to discover or get to know artists better by producing texts on their work.

Les Ateliers Jérôme, in the Champ de Mars, which was one of his best-known addresses, (currently in Pétion-Ville) has been a place of reference which has hosted various cultural activities, including signature sales and readings. The Ministry of Culture presents its sincere condolences to the family of Mireille Pérodin Jérôme, to her allies, her friends and to the entire Haitian cultural and artistic community.
