iciHaiti - Humanitarian : Terrassa helps more than 5,000 vulnerable young Haitians
The Town Hall of Terrassa, municipality of Catalonia (Spain), has subsidized to the tune of 186,126 euros two entities the Foundation "Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos" and its partner in Haiti "Our Little Brothers and Sisters" to improve the quality of life of more than 5,000 vulnerable Haitian children through the "Sport, Health and Development in Haiti" program, set up in 2014 with the financial support of the Town Hall.

The objective of this program is to reduce the rates of morbidity and mortality caused by infectious diseases in the marginal Haitian child and adolescent population.

Throughout the past decade, the program has attracted a large group of Terrassa volunteers who each year travel to Haiti with the initiative's promoter to participate in the activities envisioned in the plan, including staff training local to ensure the sustainability of the project.

This long-term commitment of the City Council and the civilian population of Terrassa to the Haitian people has created a great impact on the quality of life of the most vulnerable young Haitians in Haiti.
