iciHaiti - Cholera : Remobilization of Mobile Rapid Response Teams
Faced with the cholera epidemic in Haiti, the remobilization of Mobile Rapid Intervention Teams (EMIRA) remains a strategy of choice at the level of the country's health departments.

In collaboration with the "Catholic Medical Mission Board" (CMMB), the Health Decentralization Support Unit (UADS) of the Ministry of Public Health organized accelerated training, retraining and supervision sessions for teams to improve community care and better organize response and prevention activities in the health departments of Artibonite and North with the following objectives :

  • Train and supervise EMIRA response teams from the Artibonite and North health departments;
  • Orient the teams on their roles and responsibilities as well as on the establishment of sanitary cordons;
  • Consolidate participants' skills on the Ministry's care protocol;
  • Equip EMIRA teams with techniques for supervising and evaluating treatment centers for acute diarrhea and the progression of cholera in the communities.
