iciHaiti - Insecurity : A brilliant student fatally injured by a stray bullet
Tuesday, March 21 Tchadensky Jean Baptiste, a brilliant student at the École Normale Supérieur was fatally injured by a stray bullet at the Champ-de-Mars not far from the National Palace. Rushed to the Doctors Without Borders hospital in Tabarre, he unfortunately did not survive his injury.

Reacting to this tragedy, the management of the École Normale Supérieure in a note said to be "[...] shocked, indignated and revolted by the announcement of the violent death of the student in 3rd year of the Department of Modern Letters from ENS, Tchadensky Jean Baptiste.

He was one of the most promising students in his promotion. He was a member of the Literature Circle of the ENS, passionate about theatre, very independent in character and spirit, but respectful of everyone and in solidarity with his comrades.

It is a huge loss for his family and for the country. We share the extreme pain of his family, friends, loved ones and the entire ENS community.

Beyond the Normal School, everyone (student, pupil, passer-by) could have been the target of this stray bullet. All this is part of the extension of this terror Instituted, tolerated, even trivialized to keep us on our knees. We will not be able to tolerate and we will not tolerate this situation indefinitely. It is about our honor and our dignity.

Haiti will win !

The École Normale will not work on Wednesday March 22, 2023 but will keep its doors open."
