iciHaiti - Migration : IOM provided humanitarian services to approximately 2,000 repatriated Haitians (February 2023)
For the month of February 2023, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) recorded the repatriation to Haiti of 8,886 people from the vast majority of the Dominican Republic (7,586 returnees 85%) arrived through border crossing points Ouanaminthe and Belladère. 1,300 (15%) were repatriated by air and sea via the USA, the Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands.

IOM provided humanitarian services to around 2,000 of the two identified as the most vulnerable. They benefited from food and hygiene kits and medical and psycho-social assistance for unaccompanied children and pregnant women.

This assistance was made possible through our European Union partners in the ECHO Programme, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Office for Humanitarian Assistance and the UK Government Department of Home Affairs.
