iciHaiti - Politic : Vietnam ready to support President Abinader's international campaign in favor of Haiti
During a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hanoi with Miguel Mejía Minister of Regional Integration of the Dominican Government on an official 6-day trip to Vietnam, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Hà Kim Ngoc for the Americas, declared that the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs was ready to support the international campaign of President Luis Abinader seeking the international community to help Haiti face the difficult economic, socio-political and security crisis that this country is going through.

During the meeting, Mejía highlighted the efforts made by the Dominican Republic in favor of Haiti, even devoting a very large part of its health budget to the benefit of the tens of thousands of Haitian women in labor who cross the country illegally each year the border to give birth for free in the Dominican Republic "We have done too much and we continue to do so in favor of Haiti, plunged into an extremely chaotic situation but we cannot do everything alone."

Miguel Mejía encouraged Vietnam to support proposals in favor of Haiti in organizations such as the United Nations and UNESCO, as well as in any other forum where they are represented.

The Vietnamese Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed Mejía's proposals and suggestions as positive and promised to present and support them before the corresponding authorities of the relevant Ministries of his country.
