The Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that for the period from January 16 to 22, 2023, 25 accidents on the national territory made at least 98 victims : 17 dead and 81 injured. including several seriously…

Aquin, Carrefour, Catalpa, Cap-Haitien, Grand-Goâve, Gonaïves, Léogane, Miragoâne, Mirebalais, Delmas 33 and Ouanaminthe are the main municipalities and areas where these accidents have been recorded.

Let's recall that this assessment was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross (CRH).

However, due to a lack of sufficient financial resources, STOP-Accident is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents reiterates its call for caution on the roads and urges the Government to strengthen prevention measures and set up a systematic vehicle inspection service. In addition, the Organization invites road users to behave responsibly to reduce the risk of accidents.
