On Wednesday January 25, 2023, 6 police officers assigned to the Departmental Unit for the Maintenance of Order (UDMO - Artibonite) died under the murdered bullets of members of the "Gran grif" Gang operating in Savien, during an attack perpetrated against the police station of Liancourt (zone of Moreau, Commune of Bas Artibonite) confirmed the National Union of Haitian Police Officers (Synapoha) on its official twitter account.

The exact circumstances of this tragedy remain unclear for the moment. According to police sources, some of the police officers killed were receiving treatment in a dispensary in the area after being injured during the exchange of fire with members of the "Gran Grif" gang, which suffered several losses in its ranks (according to the police).

Informed of the presence of the injured police officers, members of the gang reportedly captured the officers to drive them into their territory and kill them.
