iciHaiti - Artibonite : Seizure of 228 kg of marijuana, 3 traffickers arrested

The Artibonite police arrested in Ti Bois-d'Homme (Gros-Morne commune), 3 drug traffickers : Aldonère DESTINE, Emmanuel SUGGNY and Vertilus CELICIA. These traffickers were traveling in a red Toyota pick-up, which was heading towards the North-West department, carrying 228.4 kg of marijuana in 23 large bags. The narcotics seized with an estimated value of nearly 23 million Gourdes, will be handed over to the Office for the Fight against Narcotics Trafficking (BLTS) which is the unit specialized in this area.
Note that the Divisional Commissioner Jean Bruce MYRTIL, Departmental Director of Artibonite, who is carrying out the new security plan put in place to establish security in the Artibonite had declared a few hours before this operation "[...] all the gangs operating in the Artibonite Department, the police will take care of them [...] nothing will cross the Artibonite department, whether it's drugs, firearms or ammunition" adding "[...] anyone who joins a gang must choose whether she is "Mawon", or she will be arrested, or she will die in a confrontation with the police.
