Sunday, December 4th, 2022, specialized units of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) such as the SWAT, the Departmental Unit for the Maintenance of Order and the Temporary Unit (UDMO), the Temporary Anti-Gang Unit (UTAG) and armored vehicles, carried out an operation in the zone of ort Lafiteau, Minoterie and Source Matelas against armed groups who want to take control of these areas.

During the assault several bandits were killed, wounded and arrested during the intense exchange of fire. The police, thanks to their heavy machinery unit, managed to clear the roads and plug the big holes made by the bandits to prevent the police from advancing towards their territory.

On the instructions of the Commander-in-Chief, Frantz Elbé, armored vehicles will continue to patrol the national road number 1 in the area of Port Lafito, Minoterie and Source Matelas and continue to track down and put out of harm's way these bandits.
