iciHaiti - Cholera : Towards the remobilization of Mobile Rapid Intervention Teams
To better cope with the rise of the cholera epidemic in Haiti, the Support Unit for Health Decentralization (UADS) of the Ministry of Public Health, together with the Department of Organization of Health Services and the Department of Health Promotion and Environmental Protection and in close collaboration with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) carried out targeted interventions at the level of central and Artibonite departments, the last week of November.

The UADS prioritizes, in its response plan, the remobilization of Mobile Rapid Intervention Teams (EMIRA) for comprehensive care of victims. The interventions also focused on the collection of data related to human resources, the analysis of the supply chain and the availability of drugs and inputs, the assessment of the water situation, hygiene and sanitation of care structures for cholera patients, evaluation of patient care in Acute Diarrhea Treatment Centers (CTDA) and training of managers from the departments concerned on the Quality assessment tool.
