iciHaiti - Environment : Training on the prevention and control of forest fires

The Ministry of the Environment through its Directorate of Forests and Renewable Energies and its Departmental Directorate of South-East organizes at the National Natural Park of the Pine Forest (Unit 1), a week of training on the prevention and control of fires foresters.

This training, which mobilizes nearly fifty participants, specifically targets agents of the Environmental Surveillance Corps of the Park and the leaders of the neighboring areas of the forest.

The main objective of the training is to sensitize, train and/or strengthen the capacity of agents in the active struggles of prevention and control of forest fires and also in the use of fire as a tool for the fight against weeds in relation to impacts caused by human activity and abusive cutting of trees.

This training, which will end on December 4th, 2022, is led by three trainers from the Ministry: Agronomist Ulrick BAIN, Pierre Guito JEAN and Kerns Paul PACIFIQUE. This training is part of the Ministry's program to sustainably manage forests and protected areas that are often victims of fires.
