Following the command meetings organized by Frantz Elbé Acting Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), several specialized units including the Corps of Motorized Intervention Brigades (CBIM), the Intervention Corps and the Maintenance of Order (CIMO) as well as officers from the Highway Police Traffic Directorate (DCPR), were deployed throughout the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince.

This intensification of the police presence across the metropolitan area is part of the execution of the new security plan implemented to allow the population to go about their business in a safe environment.

In addition to the sub-police stations and antennas which are mobilized, patrols and fixed points are amplified. In addition, the police are continuing routine checks of vehicles and pat-downs of users...

This security device aims not only to thwart acts of banditry including kidnapping, armed robbery, but also to create a favorable security environment, allowing public and private institutions to carry out their activities in complete peace of mind...

Wanting to ensure the implementation of this security plan on the ground, Frantz Elbé, made this week a supervision tour through the streets of Port-au-Prince including the immediate environment of the National Port Authority (APN), the Republic of Haiti Bank (BRH) and the National Bank of Haiti (BNC).
