iciHaiti - UEH : Kidnapping of Professor Auguste Alexis

"The Rectorate of the State University of Haiti (UEH) has learned with frustration, anger and exasperation of the kidnapping followed by séquestration of Mr. Auguste Alexis, Professor at the Faculty of Law and Economics and at the Institute National Administration of Management and Higher International Studies (INAGHEI), which occurred on Sunday October 30, 2022 in the commune of Tabarre.

The Rectorate vehemently denounces and condemns this umpteenth kidnapping of a member of the university community and demands the immediate and unconditional release of Professor Alexis.

The Rectorate expresses its full support to the families of the Professor, to the entire university community and to those of the Faculty of Law and Economics and of INAGHEI in particular.

The Rectorate finds it revolting that the country continues to experience this macabre situation where the movement of people has become a highly risky bet in Haiti. He believes that the time has come for a real national awakening in order to be able to put an end to this situation of terror which tends to settle as second nature in our daily lives."
