According to diverging testimonies, Romelo Vilsaint was shot in the head by the police. At the hospital where he was taken to the emergency room, the conclusions of the neurosurgeon, reported by Agence France Presse, the journalist Romelo Vilsaint was fatally hit in the head by a tear gas canister. Divisional Inspector Garry Desrosiers Spokesperson for the National Police of Haiti (PNH) confirmed to the "Associated Press" (AP) that journalist Vilsaint had been killed, but refused to comment on the event. Emmelie Prophète Milcé, the Minister of Communication on her Twitter account "deplores the tragedy that occurred on Sunday October 30, at the Delmas 33 police station, which caused the sudden death of journalist Romelo Vilsaint.
