iciHaiti - Media : Faced with the crisis, the media victims
The Haitian Ministry of Culture and Communication (MCC) yesterday said it was well aware of the difficulties that the country's media are facing to operate in this context of generalized crisis, particularly because of the scarcity of fuel. Several of them, radio and television stations, have stopped working or had to adjust a crisis schedule.

The recent attack on the life of journalist Roberson Alphonse https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-37976-haiti-flash-attempted-kidnapping-and-assassination-of-journalist-roberson-alphonse.html and the assassination of Garry Tess https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-37985-icihaiti-security-the-mcc-worried-about-the-wave-of-blind-violence.html , in Les Cayes, aggravate the hard situation of the media. The MCC recalls, once again, that journalists are essential actors in the rule of law.

The Ministry says it is sorry to read the announcement of the newspaper Le Nouvelliste in which it informs of the suspension of the publication of the paper version until further notice, because of the impossibility of obtaining fuel, distribute the newspaper and after using his last stock of paper. The MCC regrets that the only printed daily in the Republic, which is also the oldest French-language daily in America, had to make this decision, hoping that the paper version will return quickly.
