Berto Dorcé Minister of Justice and Public Security declared "[that he] expresses his deep dismay following the armed attack perpetrated by unidentified individuals against journalist Roberson Alphonse, this Tuesday, October 25, 2022, while he was on his way to work.

Seven days earlier, the host of the 'Gran Lakou' program broadcast on Radio Lebon FM, Garry Tess, had been reported missing, before his inert body was found on Monday 24th of the current month, under a bridge at 'Foko', in the South Department.

[I] strongly condemn these ignominious acts against the brave workers of the press, the effects of which can only further reinforce the bad publicity that tirelessly tarnishes the image of our dear Haiti in the concert of nations.

[I wish] a speedy recovery to the journalist Alphonse, bring all his solidarity as well as that of the Ministry to the family of the victim, his work colleagues, his relatives and friends, his listeners as well as to the press in general.

At the same time, [I] extend my deepest sympathies to the family of journalist Garry Tess, to his colleagues, relatives and friends affected by his early death.

Those who sow mourning in Haitian families, as well as the artisans of chaos who, under fanatical impulse, incite violence among young people whom they were supposed to guide towards the path of education, have an interest in never forgetting that justice cannot be undone."
