iciHaiti - Varreux : Theft of 4 tank trucks and barrels filled with fuel

On the night of Friday, October 14, 2022, two days after a first attack followed by fuel theft https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-37886-haiti-news-zapping.html , the facilities of WINECO, the managing company at the Varreux oil terminal (Cité Soleil) were again attacked.
These heavily armed individuals entered the enclosure via the northern evacuation portal neighboring Cité Soleil, overpowered the surveillance and emergency staff, then left with 4 tank trucks and barrels full of fuel. An estimated theft of over 28,000 gallons of petroleum products in total [worth over $1 million on the black market].
WINECO is sounding the alarm on these repeated theft situations and these dangerous manipulations of fuel which endanger the personnel, the installations and the surrounding population.
